Ponterio sale 177, lot 13024

This specimen was lot 13024 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description^[1] noted, "BELGIUM. 1/2 Franc, 1833. NGC PROOF-67. Toned with electric blue coloring on obverse and rose on the reverse." This type was struck 1833-44 at the Brussels mint. The specification matches the French half franc of Louis Philippe.
