This specimen was lot 13024 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description[1] noted, "BELGIUM. 1/2 Franc, 1833. NGC PROOF-67. Toned with electric blue coloring on obverse and rose on the reverse." This type was struck 1833-44 at the Brussels mint. The specification matches the French half franc of Louis Philippe.
Recorded mintage: 58,000 (rare date).
Specification: 2.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .072 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
