Bavaria 1830 ducat Fr-274
This specimen was lot 1787 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €10,000 (about US$13,917 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, KONIGREICH, Ludwig I. 1825-1848. Dukat 1830. Isargold. GOLD. RR Leicht justiert, winz. Kratzer, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Erworben 1952 bei der Firma Julius Jenke, München. Die Rückseitendarstellung dieses Dukaten ist aus dem 18. Jahrhundert übernommen worden. Sie lehnt sich an römische Vorbilder an. (Germany, kingdom of Bavaria, Louis I, 1825-48, ducat of 1830, gold from the Isar. Rare, lightly adjusted, minor scratches, extremely fine to uncirculated. Bought from Julius Jenke in 1952. The depiction on the reverse of this ducat was taken over from an 18th century design. It is based on Roman models.)"
This ducat honored gold washed from the Isar river. Other ducats for 1830 include KM 737.1, 753.1, 753.2, 755, 756, 758, 759.
