This specimen was lot 22163 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $320. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bavaria. Taler, 1828. PCGS AU Details--Cleaning, Secure Holder. 'Blessings of Heaven'. Inspiration for the [Russian] 1836 Family Ruble." Two different commemorative thalers were issued for 1828, of which this is the more common.
