This specimen was lot 3527 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,500 (about US$1,963 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH: Maximilian III. Joseph, 1745-1777. Konv.-Taler 1765, München. Arslanitaler. Feine Tönung, vorzüglich. Der Ursprung dieses Talers wird auf kaufmännische Unternehmungen in der Levante zurückgeführt. Der Name rührt von dem Löwen her, der auf türkisch Arslan heißt. (Germany, electorate of Bavaria, Maximilian III Joseph, 1745-77, 1745-77, convention thaler of 1765, Munich mint. Turkish thaler. Fine toning, extremely fine. These were struck for the Levant trade.)"
