Künker sale 335, lot 3483

This specimen was lot 3483 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €45 (about US$59 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH: Maximilian II. Emanuel, 1679-1726. 3 Kreuzer (Groschen) 1724, München. Vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Heidelberger Münzhandlung, Herbert Grün 36, Heidelberg 2002, Nr. 5524. (Germany, electorate of Bavaria, Maximilian II, 1679-1726, three kreuzer or groschen of 1724, Munich mint. Extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1715-26 and is common. Many examples are curled from the use of roller dies, popular in central Europe in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries
