Steve Album Auction 53, lot 2905

This specimen was lot 2905 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "BAVARIA: Albrecht V, 1550-1579, AE raitpfennig, 1562, A - H flanking crossed swords within beaded circle with "DRAV SAVCH WEM 156Z" around // crowned double-headed eagle with Bavarian arms on breast, small edge defect or chip, a few small spots of light oxidation, rare type, plain edge, XF, ex Almer H. Orr III Collection, ex Andy Singer (with tag and old collector's tag)." The closest thing to this coin is KM MB118 of 1578-80. That pfennig is silver, with "AH" on the obverse and the Wittelsbach arms on the reverse but no eagle. This is probably a counting jeton.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper, this specimen 2.3 g.

Catalog reference: Neumann-6124, Wittelsbach-539.
