Bavaria 1562 10 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 5301 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €400 (about US$557 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, Albert V. der Großmütige, 1550-1579. 10 Kreuzer 1562, München, mit Titel Ferdinands I. R Feine Tönung, leichte Prägeschwäche, sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Bavaria, Albert V the Magnanimous, 1550-79, ten kreuzer of 1562, Munich mint, struck in the name of Ferdinand I. Rare, fine toning, slightly weak strike, very fine.)"
This type was struck 1560-65. It is not priced in the SCWC. At this point, one thaler was 72 kreuzer and one gulden was sixty kreuzer. The duke was elevated to elector during the Thirty Years War.
