This specimen was lot 3645 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 550 (about US$689 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "[Basel.] 3 Batzen 1809. FDC. (uncirculated.)" This type was struck 1809-10 while the canton was under Napoleonic domination and is the only issue of this denomination. Forty batzen made a thaler.
