Sincona sale 47, lot 2560

This specimen was lot 2560 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 900 CHF (about US$1,080 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Basel, Stadt und Kanton Basel, Halbtaler 1785. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. (city and canton of Basel, half thaler of 1785. Very rare in this condition, About uncirculated.)"

This type of 1785-86 is rather expensive. It was accompanied by a thaler (Dav-1755).
