This specimen was lot 33847 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $5,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "India: Baroda. Sayaji Rao III gold Mohur VS 1947 (1890) MS63 NGC. A fairly scarce issue and one that's seen at auction in any condition only once every few years. Nearly Prooflike in appearance via an exacting strike and prominent reflectivity, we note that the piece at hand is tied, for the finest submitted to grading." This type was struck intermittently VS 1945-1959. All dates are rare. The SCWC also lists a one-third and a one-sixth mohur, both rare.
