This specimen was lot 56375 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Banswara. Nazarana Rupee, ND (1870). Lakshman Singh (Under Victoria as Empress). PCGS Genuine--Tooled, Unc Details. From the Nicholas Fritz Collection." The local potentate, a Rajput feudatory, had rupees struck in various types (KM 16, 17, 23, 24) with different weights (the "heavy rupee" weighed 12 g) and widths ("dump" style versus the nazarana type shown here).
