This specimen was lot 2521 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $132. The catalog description[1] noted, "BANSWARA: Lakshman Singh, 1844-1905, AR 1/8 rupee, legend both sides is samstraba, a name for Shiva, UNC, R, ex Ian Todd Collection." The local potentate, a Rajput feudatory, had rupees struck in various types (KM 16, 17, 23, 24) with different weights (the "heavy rupee" weighed 12 g) and widths.
