This specimen was lot 3924 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €4,000 (about US$5,249 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BADEN, BADEN-DURLACH, MARKGRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1803, GROSSHERZOGTUM. Friedrich I. 1852-1856-1907. Dukat 1854. Prinz und Regent. Rheingold. R Nur 1.820 Exemplare geprägt. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Rare, only 1,820 examples struck, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This is the last "Rhine gold" ducat from this state, diminishing returns having made the enterprise of gold washing in the river unprofitable.

Catalog reference: KM 227, Divo/S. 11; Fr-155; Schl. 42. GOLD.
