Heritage sale 3073, lot 32825

This specimen was lot 32825 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $372. The catalog description[1] noted, "Baden. Ludwig I Taler 1830 MS63 NGC. Toned to a deep gray with noteworthy underlying luster and just a splash of blue-green on the obverse." This type of 1829-30 is available. It is closer in weight to the later vereinsthaler rather than the kronenthaler. The grand duchy issued coins until 1918.
