This specimen was lot 2655 in Goldberg sale 91 (Los Angeles, June 2016), where it sold for $411.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Baden. Taler, 1817 NGC AU55. Carl Ludwig Friedrich. Deeply toned. NGC graded AU-55." This type is listed for 1814-19 and is rather scarce for a nineteenth century thaler. The SCWC does not mention the engraver's initial "D" on the reverse but it is clearly there.
Recorded mintage: 52,073.
Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver.
