This specimen was lot 774 in Jean Elsen list 269 (Brussels, July-August 2014), where it was offered for €400 (about US$544). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, BADE, Carl Ludwig Friedrich (1811-1818), AR Kronentaler, 1816 D, presque Superbe (grand duchy of Baden, Carl Ludwig Friedrich (1811-1818), silver crown thaler of 1816, about extremely fine.)"
This type is listed for 1814-19 and is rather scarce for a nineteenth century thaler. The SCWC does not mention the engraver's initial "D" on the reverse but it is clearly there.
Recorded mintage: 38,274.
Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver.
