This specimen was lot 4506 in Goldberg sale 69 (Los Angeles, May, 2012), where it sold for $149.50. The catalog description [2] noted, "Azores. 10 Reis, 1865. Luiz I. Crowned arms. Reverse: Value and date within wreath. NGC graded MS-65 Red & Brown. The Judy Cahn Collection." This specimen is one of a type struck 1865-66 for the Azores. Similar five and twenty réis also exist. They may be distinguished from regular Portuguese issues by having the denomination in Arabic numerals (Portuguese coppers have the denomination in Roman numerals).
