This specimen was lot 33296 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "Awadh. Wajid Ali Shah 1/4 Rupee AH 1267 Year 5 (1854/5) AU58 NGC, Lucknow mint. Handsome toning with good eye appeal." This type was struck at Lucknow AH 1267-1271 and is not listed as expensive. Wikipedia comments, "Mirza Wajid Ali Shah (Urdu: واجد علی شاه) (1822-87) was the eleventh and last King of Awadh, holding the position for 9 years, from 13 February 1847 to 11 February 1856." He was deposed and his domain annexed by the East India Company. Resentment of this and other acts led to the Indian Mutiny of 1857, which was centered at Awadh's capital Lucknow.
