The specimen shown is an example of a type struck in Austria, 2002-06. Austria began minting euros in 2002. The admission of additional members caused the reverse to be redesigned in 2007 to show the enlarged zone.

Specification: 8.52 g., Bi-Metallic Brass center in Copper-Nickel ring, 25.75 mm diameter. Obv: Bust of Bertha von Suttner, Novelist and winner of 1905 Peace Prize, facing left within inner circle, stars in outer circle by Josef Kaiser; Rev: Value at left, relief map of European Union at right by Luc Luycx Edge: Reeded and lettered: 2 EURO and stars.
