The specimen shown is an example of a type struck in Austria 2002-07. Austria began minting euros in 2002. The SCWC reports that some dates (e.g., 2003) were struck only for the collector sets. The obverse shows the St. Stephen's cathedral in Vienna. The admission of additional members caused the reverse to be redesigned in 2007 to show the enlarged zone.
Recorded mintage: 441,600,000 plus 100,000 for the BU sets and 35,000 for the proof sets.
Specification: 4.07 g, brass, 19.75 mm diameter, reeded edge.
