The specimen shown is an example of a type struck in Austria in 1982. It is the second issue of this denomination and honors composer Josef Haydn. The design is changed every year altho this one was reissued in 1991. In 1982, US$1 = 16.7 schilling.
Recorded mintage: 3,090,000 + 50,000 proofs of KM 2955.1 plus 100,000 of KM 2955.2.
Specification: 8 g, copper-nickel aluminum, 27.7 mm diameter.
