This specimen was lot 45334 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $1,140. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Florin (Gulden), 1871-A. Vienna Mint. Franz Joseph I. NGC MS-65+. The sole finest certified example." The florin superseded the old half thaler and was struck 1857-92 with various busts of Franz Josef. This is the most common date of a type struck 1867-72 at Vienna (A), Kremnitz (B) and Karlsburg (E) but is scarce compared to the later KM 2222.

Specification: 12.34 g, 0.900 fine silver, .357 troy oz AGW, 29.2 mm diameter.
