This specimen was lot 42015 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 20 Kreuzer, 1852-C. Prague Mint. Franz Joseph. PCGS MS-64. A KEY DATE in the series, this example being the only example certified by PCGS or NGC to date, and especially desirable in this near-Gem quality. A piece that undoubtedly belongs in the cabinet of a specialist in the Franz Joseph series." The twenty kreuzer with Franz Josef's head left was struck in 1852 at Vienna and Prague. A redesigned type (KM 2211, bust right) was struck 1852-56 at four mints. It was 4.32 g, 0.900 fine silver, and had the same amount of silver. The "bust right" type is common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 1,687,000. A scarce date despite the large mintage.

Specification: 4.32 g, 0.900 fine silver, 0.125 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM-2211.
