Stack's Bowers September 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 74179

This specimen was lot 74179 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 20 Kreuzer, 1817-A. Vienna Mint. Franz I. PCGS MS-63." This type was struck 1817-24 at seven mints, including Vienna (A, shown here), Kremnitz (B), Prague (C), Karlsburg (E) and Günzburg (G), Milan (M) and Venice (V). The last 20 kreuzer was struck in 1872.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.

Specification: 6.68 g, 0.583 fine silver, 28 mm diameter.
