Austria 1783-A ducat Fr-439
This specimen was lot 2005 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Joseph II. 1765-1790. Dukat 1783 A, Wien. Fast vorzüglich. Kleiner Randfehler. (Holy Roman Empire, Joseph II, 1765-90, ducat of 1783, Vienna mint. About Extremely Fine, Minor edge flaw.)"
This standardized design was struck 1780-90 at Vienna (mintmark "A", shown here), Kremnitz (mintmark "B"), Karlsburg (mintmark "E"), Hall (mintmark "F") and Nagybánya (mintmark "G"). There is another ducat, Fr-435, with a uniformed bust of Joseph II, struck 1781-85 at Prague (C) and Hall (F) only.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
