Stack's Bowers 2026 NYINC sale, lot 43019

This specimen was lot 43019 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Holy Roman Empire. Ducat, 1743. Vienna Mint. Maria Theresa. NGC AU-50. A RARELY encountered type, and one that is desirable in any state of preservation. Light wear is evident, but much detail remains over bright golden-yellow surfaces." This type was struck 1743-45. The issue of 1741, tho also catalogued as Fr-397, has the empress wearing a different gown.
