Künker Auction 439, lot 2268

This specimen was lot 2268 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €20,000 (about US$27,514 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand II., 1592-1618-1637. 2 Dukaten 1633, Wien. GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung Kommerzialrat Dr. Herbert Wenzel, Wien. Erworben 1977 von der Tiroler Münzhandlung Sigmund Werkner, Innsbruck. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, double ducat of 1633, Vienna mint. Extremely rare, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1620-35 but all dates are rare. It was accompanied by a single ducat (Fr-172).
