Künker sale 406, lot 4455

This specimen was lot 4455 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €750 (about US$984 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Erzherzog Karl, 1564-1590. Reichstaler 1589, Graz. RR Hübsche Patina, leichte Prägeschwäche, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Austria, archduke Charles, 1564-90, thaler of 1589, Graz mint. Very rare, handsome patina, slightly weakly struck, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This date, 1589, seems to be the most common for the type but others are known from 1586 and 1587.
