The first specimen was lot 691 in Sincona sale 89 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 1,000 CHF (about US$1,322 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Maximilian I. 1493-1519. Sechser o. J., Hall. Gutes sehr schön. Hübsche Patina. Kleine Kratzer. Exemplar der Auktion Frankfurter Münzhandlung 139, Frankfurt am Main, November 1992, Los 358. (Holy Roman Empire, Maximilian I, 1493-1519, undated six kreuzer, Hall mint. Good very fine, Attractively toned, Some small scratches.)"

The second specimen was lot 10 in Künker Auction 423 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,558 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maximilian I., 1490-1519. Sechser o. J. (1496-1503), Hall. Münzmeister Benedikt Burkhart. Geharnischtes Hüftbild r. mit Erzherzogshut, mit der Rechten das Kugelzepter schulternd, die Linke am Schwertgriff//Kreuz, in den Winkeln die Wappenschilde von Tirol - Ungarn / Burgund - Österreich. Sehr schön/vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Maximilian I, 1490-1519, undated six kreuzer, circa 1496-1503, Hall mint. Obverse: armored half-length bust with archducal hat, holding a sword and scepter; reverse: a cross cantonned with the arms of Tyrol, Hungary, Burgundy and Austria. Very fine to extremely fine.)"

The first thalers or guldiners were struck during Maximilian's reign and were worth sixty kreuzer, or ten of these coins.
