This specimen was lot 76123 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $4,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 100 Dollars, 2018. Royal Australian Mint. Elizabeth II. GEM PROOF. Comes with display box of issue and certificate of authenticity #00742." This type comes in two varieties, KM 2865 (continuous reverse legend) and KM 2866 (ornate frame at top, shown here). The mintage figure is divided between them. It honors a 1812 map which showed the track of Captain Cook's voyages in the 1770's.
