This specimen was lot 615 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Augsburg. Ducat, 1705. NGC MS-62. Alexander Sigismund von der Pfalz-Neuburg (1690-1737)." The city of Augsburg only issued ducats on special occasions and consequently they are quite scarce. This type is also listed for 1707.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW.
