This specimen was lot 1118 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 1,800 CHF (about US$2,159 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Augsburg, Stadt, Dukat 1702. Titel Leopold I. Vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Augsburg, ducat of 1702, struck in the name of Leopold I, Extremely fine.)"
The city of Augsburg only issued ducats on special occasions and consequently they are quite scarce. This type is also listed for 1701.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.45 g.
