This specimen was lot 24765 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $3,290. The catalog description[1] noted, "Augsburg. Free City gold Ducat 1645, with titles of Ferdinand III, MS63 NGC. Sharply struck details with fully lustrous surfaces; a choice example with excellent eye appeal. The obverse features a bust of Ferdinand facing right with the arms of the city on the reverse. Ex: Swiss Bank Corp sale 34, Lot 692, with the original envelope." This type was struck 1645-57 and tho not cheap, is more available than other Augsburger ducats of the seventeenth century.
