This specimen was lot 108 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,450 (about US$1,954 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"AUGSBURG, STADT, Reichstaler 1639, mit Titel Ferdinands III. R Leicht gereinigt, vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Augsburg, thaler of 1639, struck in the name of Ferdinand III. Scarce, lightly cleaned, extremely fine.)"
The rather peeved looking gentleman shown on this one year type is the emperor, whose more conventional bust appears on Dav-5039.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver.
