This specimen was lot 32199 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Augsburg. Batzen, 1521-A. Eberhard IV. PCGS EF-45. Retaining much of the original detail and charm, the present example is quite pleasing in hand with just a hint of yellow tone." This type was struck 1520-23 and 1531-33 and was worth four kreuzer. It was struck by the imperial administration and not the city. We aren't sure who is Eberhard IV; the bishops of the time were Heinrich von Lichtenau, 1505–1517, Christoph von Stadion, 1517–1543, and Otto Truchsess von Waldburg, 1543–1573.
