Argentina 2006 peso rev DSLR.jpg

This specimen features the sunface design originally used on the patriot eight reales of 1815-35. This issue should not be confused with the peso of the 1960's. The coinage was reformed in 1970, 1983, 1985 and 1992. Argentina was to suffer from bouts of hyperinflation for the next forty years, impoverishing a once prosperous region. This type is listed for 1994-96 and 2006-10.

Recorded mintage: 30,000,000.

Specification: 6.35 g, brass center, copper-nickel outer ring, 23 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 112.1.
