This specimen was lot 70229 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "ARGENTINA. 2 Soles, 1826-RA. La Rioja Mint. PCGS EF-40. Medal Alignment, No 'P' variety. A charming little piece with a slightly off center strike that just adds to the charm." This type was struck 1824-26 and is common in low grade. This variety without the assayer's initial is scarce.
