This specimen was lot 831 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "ANHALT-CÖTHEN: August Ludwig, 1728-1755, AR 2/3 thaler, 1750, AW=Alexius Wegelin, mintmaster, Köthen Mint, extremely faint hairlines that have re-toned in a very striking and appealing way, AU, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." Thalers from eighteenth century Anhalt are very rare so collectors make do with the minors. This type was struck 1747 and 1750.
