Anhalt-Kothen 1751-AW thaler Dav-1910
This specimen was lot 4046 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,302 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ANHALT-KÖTHEN, FÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1807 HERZOGTUM August Ludwig, 1728-1755. Speciestaler 1751, Köthen. RR Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 351, Frankfurt/Main 1997, Nr. 1659. (principality of Anhalt-Kothen, August Louis, 1728-55, thaler of 1751, Cothen mint. Very rare, handsome patina, about extremely fine.)"
This is a regular reichsthaler tho it is listed in Numista as a 1-1/3 thaler, which may have confused it with Dav-1908 or Dav-1909 of 1747. The issue of 1751 was accompanied by 3 pfenning (KM 30), 4 pfenning (KM 31), 6 pfenning (KM 32), groschen (KM 33 and 34), 1/12 thaler (KM 35 and 36) and ducat (KM 27.1/Fr-26 and KM 38/Fr-27).
