This specimen was lot 32831 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $396. The catalog description[1] noted, "Anhalt-Bernburg. Viktor II Friedrich 2/3 Taler 1729-IIG AU50 NGC. Traditional Anhalt bear walking the walls of the city. Notable slate gray toning." This type is listed for 1727-33, 1742-44, 1747-50 and is perhaps the most available silver coin from this locale in the eighteenth century. The thalers (Dav-1901-1906, -2921-2922) are all rare.
