This specimen was lot 74872 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Wales. Anglesey. Amlwch. Copper 1/2 Penny Token, 1788. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown. This appealing 1/2 Penny Token delivers rich luster with an enticing mint red throughout." Wikipedia comments, "Amlwch (Welsh: [ˈamlʊχ]) is a port town and community in Wales. It is situated on the north coast of the Isle of Anglesey. At one time it was a booming mining town that became the centre of a vast global trade in copper ore."
