This specimen was lot 2711 in Jean Elsen sale 160 (Brussels, November 2024), where it sold for €180 (about US$228 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "OTTOMAN EMPIRE, Mehmet III (AD 1595-1603/AH 1003-1012) AV dinar, AH 1003, Tilimsan (Tlemçen). Ziyanid standard. Fine - Very Fine." Algeria was a locally ruled pirate state tributary to the Ottoman sultan in Constantinople.
