This specimen was lot 31005 in Heritage auction 3096 (Dallas, TX, March 2021), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Alderney: British Dependency. Elizabeth II gold Proof "Princess Diana - The Work Continues" 5 Pounds 2002 PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC. Marking the 5th anniversary of Princess Diana's passing, this commemorative was issued to raise money for her memorial fund. From the Paramount Collection." Alderney was not granted the right to coin until 1989, and has used it only to issue NCLT's. This one honors the late princess Diana's charitable activities.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common in copper-nickel, 20,000 in silver and 100 in gold.

Specification: KM 27: 28.28 g, copper-nickel, 38.6 mm diameter; KM 27a: 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver; KM 27b: 39.94 g, 0.917 fine gold, AGW 1.1771 oz.
