This specimen was lot 1318 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 39 (Winter Park, FL, May 2026), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN (Al-Andalus), Almoravids, Al Marīya (Almería) المرية, AV dinar, 'Ali ibn Yusuf, 533 AH (1139 AD), NGC MS 61. Broad flan, full inscriptions but softer in places, traces of luster. NGC #8437663-011." This type was struck at twenty mints in Morocco (Tlemcen, Marrakesh, Fez) and Spain (Seville, Valencia, Granada, Malaga, Murcia, etc.). The Almoravid empire collapsed under Almohad attacks in 1146 AD.
