Honan Province in the south east of China began coin production in 1647. A mint for struck coinage began operation in 1905.

The specimen shown was lot 60184 in Ponterio sale 162 (Hong Kong, August 2011), where it sold for $5,378. The catalog description[1] noted, “CHINA. Hunan. 10 Cash, CD (1915). 湖南洪憲元年開國紀念幣當十銅元。NGC MS-64 BN. Ex: The Frank Robinson Collection.”
