This specimen was lot 74289 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $671. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 12 Mark (Courant Ducat), 1763. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik V. NGC EF-45." This type was struck 1757-65 in numerous varieties. At the beginning, the regime may have attempted to pass these as full ducats but we doubt anyone was fooled for long. Until 1813, one ducat = 2 speciedaler = 12 mark = 192 skilling Danske.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.12 g, 0.875 fine gold, 21 mm diameter, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: Fr-269; KM-587.5.
