Denmark 1764-W skilling

from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 10359

This specimen was lot 10359 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €125 (about US$130). The catalog description^[1] noted, "DENMARK. Skilling, 1764-W. Frederik V. NGC MS-60. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1751, 1755 and 1761-64, with the latter dates being much more available. Initial "W" stood for Georg Wilhelm Wahl, Mint Master of the Royal Danish Mint 1761-1764.

Specification: 0.76 g, 0.187 fine silver, 15 mm diameter.
