Wurttemberg 1784-DFH thaler Dav-2871
This specimen was lot 4488 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$2,879 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WÜRTTEMBERG, WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH. Karl Eugen, 1744-1793. Konv.-Taler 1784, Stuttgart. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, duchy of Wurttemberg, Charles Eugene, 1744-93, convention thaler of 1784, Stuttgart mint. Rare in this condition, cabinet piece, about uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1781 only. It is expensive but more available than many other Wurttemberg thalers of the eighteenth century.
