Sincona sale 101, lot 2919

This specimen was lot 2919 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,281 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN Pahlavi Dynasty, Muhammad Reza Shah, 1320-1358 SH (1941-1979). 1/2 Pahlavi 1327 SH (1948), Tehran Mint. PCGS MS65."

This type, struck SH 1324-1330 during the reign of Muhammed Reza Shah (r. 1941-79), was minted to the standard of a British half sovereign. The coins generally trade as bullion coins.

Recorded mintage: 36,000.

Specification: 4.07 g, 0.900 fine gold, .117 troy oz AGW.
