France 1998 50 francs
This specimen was lot 2399 in Goldberg sale 103 (Los Angeles, February 2018), where it sold for $376. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. 50 Francs, 1998. Treasures of the Nile. Reverse: Sp[h]inx and pyramids. NGC graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo." This NCLT, issued to promote the Musée du Louvre, was accompanied by a silver ten francs (KM 1205). The Paris mint has issued so many commemoratives in recent decades that the regular French catalogs, such as Gadoury, don't list them.
